Emma’s Colonic Blog part 1!
My first blog! Not just to the colonic world but also in my life! A little birdie has been pestering me about writing a blog for a while now – but being honest, I didn’t really understand what one is!
So i have done a lot of reading and researching and found it is an informal online journal – doesn’t seem so scary now! As this is my first (and New Year brings ’firsts’ for many people) I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to bring you…….
My Colonic Beginning.
*phone rings* it’s little birdie! “have you ever thought about doing colonics?“
After laughing, and a minor horror film passing through my mind I say “No, why?“
She is a wise little birdie so isn’t put off and says “read and research about them and then call me in a few days.“ Before I knew it I was driving down the M62 to Wellsprings to begin my RICTAT (The International Register of Integrative Colon Hydrotherapists and Trainers) training.
The first time I ever received a colonic was during my training, i strolled in there without a care in the world and just got on with it…….. Said no one ever about their first treatment! I was anxious, my mind was saying things like – They are putting a tube where?! You will poo on the bed! What if you trump really loud! How powerful is that water that gets shot up there?! Ooooh the smell, they will think you stink! Now, whilst all these thoughts (and more!) that were going through my mind are completely NORMAL for anyone experiencing a colonic for the first time, I am pleased to say they are NOT TRUE!
Having my first colonic was a gentle experience, I felt no pain, my dignity was maintained throughout and I felt safe in experienced and professional hands. Did I have a fantastic result during my first treatment? I mainly released gas and that is normal for a first treatment; it is due to the ’fight or flight’ response which I will talk about in more depth in a future blog (get me talking about a future blog and I’m not at the end of my first one yet!). I have been a firm believer and practitioner in colonics ever since my phone call from the little birdie and yes I do still have them myself – every month or so, and I know by the way I am feeling when I am due my next one. I’m feeling pretty confident about blogging now, another first I have achieved so I will promise to be back again next week with my second ever blog where I will discuss the benefits of colonic treatments with you.
Until then, believe in the little birdie and don’t be afraid to try something new,
Emma
Xx
