I treat you as I do myself.
A colonic is not a magic cure, our speculum is not a wand and we cannot perform miracles. Sorry – I’m a realist.
Want to know what I had for my lunch today? A ham sandwich (in white bread), a packet of cheese and onion crisps, a banana (yey! healthy!) and a chocolate biscuit. And I ate this in between talking to clients about their nutrition and lifestyles! I am telling you this because I’m honest and I think it is important you know my eating habits aren’t perfect. I struggle to stay on track sometimes and I blame not having time, or being tired, or that a Greggs sausage roll jumped in my bag as I walked past!
So I treat my clients as I treat myself – take one thing at a time, doing too much is overfacing and leads to you giving up quickly, then you come back in a week or month later and pay me again to go over what we said last time. I am here to help and support you, so I would like to give you something manageable to do for next time hoping you will see results and it will encourage you to keep going. Then we build upon that at your next visit.
The most common advice I give is to drink more water – if someone drinks two cups a day, I ask them to aim for 4 cups, little steps – chip away at it. Lack of fluid intake leads to you becoming dehydrated which is one of the leading causes for constipation, among other things such as mood changes and confusion. Imagine being able to solve these problems just by increasing the amount of water you drink in a day! It is one of the cheapest problem solvers there is, so you can save money and feel better too! Yes, you will need to visit the loo for a pee more but think of that as a positive – some time away from your desk, a minute’s peace from the kids, being up and mobile makes you less susceptible to blood clots too!
So my tip to you this week, drink more water and just see how that makes you feel.
Love Emma
